The past few years have brought much knowledge about relationships, particularly what keeps us in unhealthy ones and what prevents us from walking towards the ones that bring life. This journey has been fascinating, heartbreaking, and eye-opening all at the same time. We are willing to offer filtered images of fabricated moments of a life we don’t live, but find it difficult to sit with one another in vulnerability and share the less glamorous hopes and dreams. I have realized that in some ways we all need to step out of hiding and share our authentic, beautiful selves with the world around us. Including me.
I have always loved teaching and encouraging people towards what brings life. It’s a joy to study and prepare in order to create a message that would meet you right where you are and hold your hand as we take one bold step forward towards love. At a recent women’s event at our church I had a chance to exercise this teaching muscle. It was such an invigorating and humbling experience to prepare this message expressing my hope and heart for these women. And with our littlest cherub heading to kindergarten next year, I have spent all year preparing myself for this jump off the high dive into clear, fresh waters of gifting, calling, and passion.
So count me in! I’m ready to join the dance of pursuing passions and living out what it feels like I have been made to do. Rejoice with me as I rejoice at this new season of resting in who I’ve been created to be and offering that up instead of scanning the crown to see what would meet the needs of those closest to me and leaving the rest for a “special occasion” or “slower season”. This is what I am walking towards so take a listen if you so desire and let me know if you might have a group of folks that could benefit from having me come share a message!
Here’s to not even dipping your toe in the water to see if it’s cold and jumping in!
